Red Envelope Day- Time for you to Speak out about Abortion

 

Red Envelope Day  is an event where on March 31 everyone who opposes abortion and wants to let President Obama know about it will send a Red envelope addressed to:

March For Life 2009

PROTECT THE INNOCENTS! 

January 22nd marks 2009 marks the 36th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision making abortion legal in the U.S.

Tomorrow the March For Life will culminate on the Mall in Washington D.C.  See invitation to President Barack Obama.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people would gather together in such numbers as we saw for this Presidents Inaguration?  Unfortunately, I doubt there will be upwards of two million people there to stand for the Preborn.  For March Route Map and further information see March For Life.

This is a time to stand up for the sanctity of Life and to defend the most innocent and helpless among us-The Unborn. If we don’t give them a voice, who will?

Let us prayerfully do all that we can to defend LIFE  in 2009!

I do not understand why the state of North Carolina has not passed a law banning partial birth abortion. But I believe we must do so.  To not pass this law is to basically leave a back door open to abortion through out the entire pregancy. This is unconcionable!

This is just another example of the sad fact that North Carolina is not a pro-life state.  I understand that the national PBA- law is currently being upheld, however, if we do not succeed in electing a pro-life president, it could be a matter of time before the partial aborion ban is brought before the Supreme Court again and possibly overturned. It is important that each state individually take its stand for life, by adopting state-legistated bans. With the election coming on Tuesday, I feel like I must hold my breath and pray….

Young Woman Planning to Auction her Virginity

I am sure some of you may have heard this: A young woman named “Natalie Dylan” (pseudonym) is trying to auction her virginity to the highest bidder.  Why?  She says she is doing it to raise money for her schooling.  This, to me is very sad, to say the least.  If this misguided young woman goes through with this she will essentially become a prostitute right out of the gate, so to speak, and will be indeed selling her “talent” for an unworthy purpose.

A virgin selling out her God-given purity!  Only in America in 2008! Look at what we have become.  It seems money/ fame/sex  are the trifecta. These three are the all driving end and goal for any and everything!  People, I realize we are in “desperate” times but this woman already has her undergrad degree. Does she need to humiliate herself in such a manner because she can’t get a job unless she gets a graduate degree? I think not.  And I wonder, after all of the controversy  surrounding her currently and the imminent shame to follow; who will be hiring her? If she wants to use her looks and her body only, she may as well go on and work for Playboy or something. From the bits I have read about her, she seems to be an intelligent person, and so I really cannot fathom why she cannot deduce a more moral/ decent way to obtain the funds she needs to go on to grad school.

I really hate this because it sends such a horrible message to the youth of our country. It is saying I will give you something if you pay me for it. This flies in the face of God. God has intended that indeed both men and women remain virgins until marriage and by thus doing so, the marriage bed is undefiled. If you have slept with (fornicated with) others before marriage, your marriage stands a much greater chance of failing i.e. ending in divorce. There are many studies out there that prove this. If you don’t believe me look it up. An individual’s virginity is something that he or she is meant to give to the ONE person whom they (or more importantly God) selects for them to be with as life long spouses, within the context of marriage.

What if Ms. Dylan’s first union results in a pregnancy? Chances are much higher for conception with a virgin reproductive system.  Is she going to use a condom or I wonder if she is on birth control?  She can perhaps stay the consequences of pregnancy by using one of those methods, but she will never be able to avoid the consequences to her spirit, her conscience, and ultimately her future.

Even if Ms. Dylan gets her graduate degree and perhaps eventually her doctorate; the question that remains in my mind is: Can she live with herself? I certainly hope and pray this young woman changes her mind and does not go through with this ridiculous act. 

I pray that she will be touched by real love, that is the Love of Christ. He is the one who is our provider, our friend, our everything. I pray the scales will be removed from her eyes before she goes through with this humiliation to her body,soul,and spirit, which should be viewed as the temple of God and is not to be defiled.

And I certainly pray there will be no copy cats who think this is a viable way to get money, education,a new car?  Remember, the bible says to us that “… the love of money is the root of all evil 1Timothy 6:10.”  We are living in an economy that proves this, are we not?

A High and Difficult Calling…

The following is based on the bible verses from Matthew Chapter 5 verses 41-48  This is part of a bible study I am doing. 

These are the words of Jesus:

v.41  And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two miles.

v.42  Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you, turn not away.

v.43  You have heard that it has been said, You shall love you neighbor, and hate your enemy.

v.44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you;

v.45  That you may be the children of you Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

v.46  For if you love them which love you, what reward have you?  Do not even the publicans (tax collectors)  the same?

v.47  And if you salute your brothers/ friends only, what do you more than others? Do not even the publicans do so?

v.48  Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The above verses are an illustration of what Christian Love is supposed to be.  Are we there yet? No, obviously not.  This kind of “perfect love” is very difficult for us sinful people to show.  We are called here to show “Agape” type of love, which is a Godly type of love. This type of love is so vastly different from any type of human or fleshly love, that many cannot even comprehend it.  Really, the only way, to my mind, that one can comprehend this type of love is to know the ONE who loves this way, that is Christ.  Without His example, people are naturally clueless about this ”Agape” love.

We all know that it is easy to love those people who are kind, generous, giving… But we also know that it quite hard and even impossible at times to try loving people who are mean, angry, hateful.  But Jesus says that if we love those that love us, then what credit is it to us? That is easy, He says.  

Jesus even instructs his followers to bless those who curse us.  Wow!  This is indeed a high calling. When we get cursed out, or done wrong in some way- our natural tendency is to curse the other person back. We have a human nature that wants to give tit for tat/ get even. The only way a human can do what God is asking here is via His Holy Spirit which indwells the believer and by His Grace which HE freely gives. And even so, one must be submitted to Christ and seek wisdom in cases such as this.   We do not see things as God sees them so going against our “human” i.e. sinful nature is very hard even in the best circumstances. And if you are a Christian you will be tried on this point.

In verse 45 it says that when we do this (i.e. behave kindly in the face of mistreatment) then it shows whose children we are. It shows others that we are indeed children of our Father in Heaven. And perhaps through our loving actions and reactions to “difficult” people, we will be able to show God’s love to them and hopefully win them to Christ.

To sum up, we are actually called to perfection. Whoa!  We are to be “little christs”.  That is the what the word Christian means. And once, again one cannot do this unless and until one knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. That means being in-dwelt by His Holy Spirit and being fully surrendered in mind, body, and soul to Him and His Grace and Wisdom and Love.

I hope that if you are not already a Christian, that you will perhaps have an encounter with another Christian who will be able to show you this type of love, so that you can believe it is REAL and that God/ Jesus is REAL. 

I feel that Christians fall short, and that is sad- because we may be losing opportunities to win souls. And that is what we are told to do. It is the Great Commission for believers. I pray we will step up to this high calling by God’s wonderful grace.

NC: Not a Pro-Life State

The great state of North Carolina in my opinion is NOT a state which stands on the side of Life. This is obvious by the pro-death- allowance laws and a lack of pro-life laws on the books in our state.

First of all North Carolina has a State Abortion Fund. Here is an excerpt from the PDF form found online which state a brief description of the program which is:

{Session Law 1995, Chapter 324, Section 23.27; G.S. 14-45.1; G.S. 143B-153; 10 NCAC 42W; 10 NCAC 42J.}

Here is the excerpt from the form published by NC Department of Health and Human Services/ Social Services Department:

Brief Description of Program:

The State Abortion Fund is a financial resource for abortion procedures for North Carolina residents who need the procedure and who meet the eligibility criteria as established by the General Assembly and the Social Services Commission. Only abortions performed in accordance with applicable State laws are reimbursable under the State Abortion Fund.   

Applications are made to county departments of social services where eligibility is determined. The county departments of social services provide counseling to all clients determined eligible for State Abortion Funds.

Physicians, hospitals, abortion clinics and ambulatory surgical facilities receiving State Abortion Funds for services rendered must be licensed in North Carolina by the Department of Health and Human Services or if located in another state, by the appropriate regulatory authority in that state.

County departments of social services negotiate for services and payment with appropriate providers. Individual service authorizations for clients are submitted on a designated form to participating medical providers by the county departments of social services, which documents the negotiated service payment. Providers may not collect additional funds from the patient.

This is astounding to me. Our state, i.e. our taxpayer dollars going to fund the killing babies: Does this not create outrage in your mind? It should.

And there is more…Various pieces of legislation have been introduced at the state level, but the leadership has prevented the bills from being considered.  The following is a list of those bills:

The Woman’s Right to Know   (Informed Consent for Abortion) would provide that a woman would receive information about the risks and alternatives to abortion 24 hours before the abortion is performed. She would also be offered information about fetal development and the opportunity to see the ultrasound of her baby if the abortionist uses an ultrasound when he performs the abortion.  Additionally, she must be told if the abortionist has neither hospital privileges nor malpractice insurance.

Unborn Victims of Violence   (35 states recognize the unlawful killing of an unborn child as homicide in at least some circumstances.) This law would change the current single victim law into one which recognizes the unborn child as a second victim when a crime is committed against the mother and the child dies.  The Congress has already passed such a law on the federal level but the law only applies to federal and military crimes.

Abortion-Parental Consent Notarized   Would ensure that a minor child will actually have at least one parent’s permission to obtain an abortion.  North Carolina currently has a one parent for abortion consent law, but abortionists are not verifying that the signature on the consent form is the signature of one of the minor’s parents.  The NC courts have said that he abortionists are to be held harmless in those cases where the forms have been forged.  In order to remedy this loophole in the law, pro-life legislators have been trying to pass a law which would require that the signature of the parent on the consent form be notarized.

No Abortion Coverage/ State Health Plan   would remove the public funding of abortions for state employees and remove the option for their family members.

Choose Life Special Registration License Plate  (17 states currently have a Choose Life Special Registration Plate; North and South Carolina are the only two southern states which do not have the plate) This law would add to the already 122 Special Registration Plates that he General Assembly has already approved.  The proceeds from the sale of the plates would help fund those organizations which provide crisis pregnancy assistance, including adoption counseling but would not go to any organization that promotes abortion.

Conscience Protection for Health Care Providers   provides protection for healthcare providers who do not wish to participate in medical procedures or supply drugs or devices which would result in an abortion.

Ultrasound Before An Abortion   requires an abortionist to perform an ultrasound on the woman seeking the abortion and go over the ultrasound prior to the woman giving informed consent for the abortion.  The legislation does not require the woman to view the ultrasound and does not punish the abortionist or the woman if the woman refuses to view the ultrasound images.

I must say to the citizens of North Carolina, we must stop this curse upon our state. By allowing and doing nothing to stop the shedding of innocent blood, we shall be and are being held accountable by God for this crime.

I urge those of you who care about Life to vote for pro-life candidates. I am sure many of you do. But that is not enough.  We must also pray fervently for those candidates to have the courage to keep on submitting pro-life legislation like the ones I have list above. We must pray that the bills will get through to become real laws.  Remember, pro-lifers, we are in a Spiritual Battle. Prayer with Action will work, I believe.  Let us keep on showing the reality and truth of what is happening in our state currently-Babies/ Unborn Babies are being murdered and many are doing NOTHING TO STOP IT!

The motto for North Carolina is “Esse Quam Videri” from the Latin, which translates “To Be Rather than to Seem.”  Right now we seem to be a pro-death state. But I believe with God’s help, we can BE A PRO-LIFE STATE!

Here is what the abortion advocates believe and promote-YIKES!

• Why focus on abortion?

  Women’s ability to make decisions about their reproductive lives is deeply connected to their ability to exercise self-determination. Abortion is one of the ways that women achieve this, especially when other methods are denied or fail.

  Because of its unique place on the continuum of methods, abortion will always be a critical piece of a broader approach to women’s health and autonomy. As one of the most publicly politicized and stigmatized options for women, it is also one of the most difficult and fragile.

  International experience as well as the pre-Roe experience in this country shows that women will seek to terminate unwanted pregnancies regardless of legality. Ensuring that abortion is accessible and safe contributes to an environment in which women and girls can be their strongest, safest, healthiest and most fully-realized selves. “

We, as pro-life advocates, need to understand the rhetoric of the pro abortion agenda.  They obviously are deluded and deceived into believing many lies about why abortion is “good” for women. 

They speak about “self-determination” for women. Of course we all are endowed by God with a free will. But there are many spiritual and plain ethical reasons why abortion is a horrible way for women to exercise their wills. They are promoting the idea that women should use their free will and self-determined choices to kill their own children!  What end is this type of self determination going to get for a woman? From personal experience, I can tell you it winds up in death,pain,regret,sadness, and on and on (insert negative adjective).

The people and women who are employed by or volunteer for the National Abortion Federation must not be women who have had an abortion. Because, I believe if any of them had, then they could not in any shred of conscience promote abortion as a good and even liberating “choice” for a woman. It is very easy to stand for something philosophically or ideologically, but when the rubber meets the road, I wonder how many so-called “pro-choicers” chose to kill their unborn children?  I mean, I hear many women defend their “Right” to control their own bodies and obtain an abortion if and when they so choose, but how many actually go the abortion route?  That would be an interesting statistic to obtain…

The death industry is strong and smart. They are not running things on shoestring budgets. They are educated and sharp in their stance of pro-death/pro-abortion.

We, as pro-life advocates must learn a lesson from them in that way. We must educate ourselves, do fundraising for pro-life projects, ministries, CPC’s, etc.  We must be ready to defend Life when asked a question about our beliefs. We must know what our bible has to say about life, especially. The word of God is quick and sharper than any two-edged sword. And the Word of God will not return void, but will accomplish whatsoever God intends.

The bible says also that in all things we do, that we should do them unto the Lord, with fervent passion. I encourage us to not give up, but pray for wisdom, strength, and power to overcome this evil of abortion with the word of God and by the words of our own testimony.

Every Christian should have a testimony. Do not be ashamed to share yours. God can use it. Let us not be ashamed of God nor of His Word nor of what He has done in our personal lives, for His ultimate Glory!

911 Happens Everyday in our Country

The equivalent of the terror attack of 9/11/2001 occurs every single day in the U.S.  What am I talking about? According to Wikianswers  2,998 people were killed that day in the attack on the world trade center.  This number may be somewhat lower, if you include those dying due to complications of 911 (i.e. complications) the number is higher, maybe upwards of 4,000.

Imagine this a daily “911″.  There are more killed daily through abortion than were killed at the twin towers.  On a daily basis,currently, there are between 3,000-3,800 abortions performed daily in the U.S.  In our state of North Carolina there are between 96-100 abortions performed daily.

Back on that September day in 2001, we all saw and felt the outrage and the horror of the act of violence that took place in NYC. But what has happened to our outrage for the murder of the unborn happening daily? 

Let me hit you with this fact. Abortion is the leading cause of death in North Carolina, according to the State Center for Health Statistics, NC.  Number two is Heart Disease related deaths at 48 deaths per day and number three is Cancer related deaths at 46/deaths per day.  Do you know that abortion is the number one (#1) surgical procedure performed in the U.S.?

Think of those poor unsuspecting souls that were hit out of nowhere on that day in September 2001.  They were going about their business, doing their daily tasks when a huge jet crashed into their workplace, killing many instantly and leading many others to a more lingering and painful death. It is so with the preborn or unborn.  Those little souls are resting and growing, going about their daily tasks of cell division, swimming in amniotic fluid, and getting ready to be born. Then along comes, out of nowhere, the hard metal forceps of the abortionist invading the baby’s place of safety.  Most are killed rather quickly, though for others it takes longer and there is more severe pain.

Both abortion and the events of 911 are similiar in other ways. Those buildings in NYC have not been rebuilt, there is still a big hole where the destruction occured, the infrastructure was destroyed to the foundations. Those 16 acres are still a wasteland and a place of desolation.  And so it is with Abortion. Those unborn babies are dead, murdered in a cold and terrorizing way. The women (mothers) of those preborn children are often a barren wasteland. The mother’s infrastructure is damaged emotionally, physically, spiritually. Many times there is a hole left in the heart which will never be repaired, at least in this lifetime.

Today is a day of infamy for our country, as we remember the tragic events of 911.  But the reality is that every day is a day of infamy for the U.S. As long as there is abortion on demand, legalized in every state in this union, the terror continues. 

Wake up people, please. God sees all that is happening. He hates it. I hate it. You too should hate it. The bible tells us to hate what is evil and love what is good-Romans 12:9.

Let us show our love for these helpless preborn babies by letting our Love be without dissimulation.
